Ford Escort Series One RS Turbo – Show Car Preparation

I was asked to carry out full show car preparation on this very nice Series One RS Turbo, the car had undergone a full strip down and under body repaint ten years ago, over this time dirt and grime had built up around the suspension components, wheel arches, engine bay, and under body, the new owner having just bought the car wanted the car returned to near concourse condition ready for the show season!

A full show car preparation was carried out on this RS Turbo, the underbody, wheel arches, and engine bay underwent a very thorough and steam clean, and detail, with a durable sealant (FK1000 wheel sealant) applied to all the painted surfaces to prevent dirt sticking in the future and make cleaning before a show much easier, the interior was fully detailed, and steam cleaned, it already looked clean, however a fair amount or dirt built up over the years was removed, mainly from the seats, carpets, and vents, to freshen up the exterior the mostly original 30 year old paintwork was treated to a two stage paintwork correction to remove the cloudiness from the finish, along with a number of minor scratches, Zaino Z2 was applied to seal the exterior paintwork, glass was polished inside and out, and the rubbers and plastics cleaned and dressed.
