Jeep Compass New Car Protection Detail – Paintwork Correction

The owner of this Jeep Compass bought it as a pre-reg deal with delivery mileage, soon after purchase however he became frustrated with the condition of the paintwork, noticing numerous fine scratches in the paint finish, which were particularly noticeable in right sunlight, this was of course due to the dealer washing the car a number of times with a brush before it was sold,

The objective was to remove all these defects and apply some durable protection to the paintwork and wheels, to make regular washing and maintenance much easier for the owner.

The car on arrival, which was thoroughly washed, road tar removed, iron deposits (rail dust) removed, clayed to remove any remaining contamination, then moved in doors to assess the condition of the paintwork under good lighting.

Up to two stages of machine polishing was carried out over three days and around 35 hours in total!

This is where lots of fine scratches and hazing was present, paintdepth readings were taken and the bonnet was polished over the course of 3 hours to restore the gloss

Once all polishing was complete the oils were removed from the paintwork using panel wipe, Blackfire Wet Diamond was then applied via machine to leave a slick finish on the paint preventing dirt from clinging on over the next few months, FK1000p sealant was applied to the wheels, tyres dressed, unpainted trim dressed, and the glass was cleaned.= and rain repellent applied.
