This 2006 Mercedes CLS 55 AMG had recently been purchased by the owner, a relatively low mileage car, which mechanically had been well cared for, the same however could not be said for the bodywork, with numerous deep marks in the clearcoat, along with the usual swirl marks, this left the paint finish looking dull and grey,
With this being the owners pride and joy which he is planning to keep for a while, he wanted the car to look its best.
So the car was booked in for 5 days to allow enough to carry out the work to a high standard.
The car on arrival on a cold winters morning.
Front bumper in need of polishing due to an old smart repair that has sunk back and faded.
The car then received my thorough wash and decontamination process, ensuring all panel gaps and trim were free of dirt, grime and dust before polishing, all tar spots, iron deposits, and bonded contaminants were then removed as detailed in this post
Once the car was washed and thoroughly decontaminated I moved inside the unit and inspected the paint finish under a variety of light sources.
Plenty swirl marks and random surface scratches to keep me busy over the next few days, so paint depth readings were taken, and vulnerable trim was taped up
Rectification of the paintwork was undertaken using a Festool Rap 150 rotary, various grades of pads, and polishes to tackle the marks safely whilst removing as little paintwork as possible.

After 3 days of polishing and refining, Polish Angel Cosmic was applied as the owner wished to have a durable and slick coating, which would make future maintenance easy.
As well as the coating being applied to the paintwork, the glass was also cleaned and sealed to promote water beading in the rain which improves visibility, all rubber, plastic trim and the tyre walls were dressed, exhausts tips polished and sealed, and the alloy wheels were also sealed.
Total time taken was 60 hours spread over 5 days.
